UniFind Terms of Service

Last updated: September 15, 2026

1. Who we are

UniFind ("we," "us," "the Platform") is a peer-to-peer marketplace that lets students buy and sell items with one another on campus. UniFind is independently operated and is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of Bicol University, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. Using a @bicol-u.edu.ph email address to sign in is a technical eligibility requirement, not a claim of university sponsorship.

2. Eligibility

You may create an account only if you:

  • Hold a valid, active email address ending in @bicol-u.edu.ph;
  • Are at least [18] years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have the involvement of a parent/guardian where required by law; and
  • Can form a legally binding contract under applicable law.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate access to anyone who does not meet these requirements, including if your university affiliation ends (e.g., graduation, withdrawal) and your @bicol-u.edu.ph address is deactivated as a result.

3. Your account

  • Sign-in is handled through Google OAuth, restricted to the domain above. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.
  • One account per person. You may not create multiple accounts or use another person's account.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account, including any shop you set up and any listings, messages, or orders associated with it.

4. Buying and selling on UniFind

UniFind is a venue, not a party to any transaction. We do not buy, sell, own, inspect, authenticate, or take possession of any item listed on the Platform. Any agreement to buy or sell is solely between the buyer and the seller.

  • No payment processing. UniFind does not process, hold, or guarantee any payment. Exchanges of money and goods happen directly between users, in person, at a meetup location of their choosing.
  • In-person meetups. You are solely responsible for your safety when meeting another user. We recommend meeting in public, well-lit, populated campus locations during daytime hours, and telling someone else where you're going. UniFind is not responsible for what happens during or as a result of an in-person meetup.
  • Listing accuracy. Sellers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings - condition, price, description, and photos. Misrepresenting an item is a violation of these Terms.
  • Order lifecycle. Placing an order sends a request to the seller, who may accept or reject it. An accepted order may be cancelled by the seller or completed by either party once the exchange has happened, consistent with the flow shown in the app. Buyers may cancel a request only while it is still pending.
  • Prohibited items. You may not list anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous, or that violates university policy, including but not limited to weapons, drugs or drug paraphernalia, and academic dishonesty materials (e.g., exam answer keys, ghostwritten assignments). This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.

5. Reviews

Reviews may only be left by a buyer, on a shop, after an order between that buyer and shop has been marked completed, and only once per order. Reviews must reflect an honest account of your experience. We may remove reviews that are fraudulent, off-topic, or that violate these Terms, though we do not currently guarantee a formal dispute process for review removal - flag to us via the.todoers.group@gmail.com if you believe a review is fraudulent.

6. Content and conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, harassing, hateful, or illegal content;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • Attempt to circumvent the university-email eligibility requirement;
  • Use the Platform to scrape, resell access to, or build a competing service from UniFind's data;
  • Interfere with or attempt to disrupt the Platform's operation or security.

You retain ownership of content you post (listing photos, descriptions, messages), but grant UniFind a license to display, store, and process it as necessary to operate the Platform.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, remove listings, or restrict access at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms, for suspected fraud, or for behavior that endangers other users. Because shop_orders, addresses, and related transaction records are retained for historical accuracy even if a listing or account is later removed, some data associated with your past transactions may persist after account termination for record-keeping and dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, OR ACCURACY OF ANY LISTING, OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, ONLINE OR IN PERSON.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniFind and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including disputes between buyers and sellers or incidents occurring at in-person meetups.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
